Chapter 14

Jacob, Matt and I were sitting in Jacob’s car outside Bonnie’s house; we were going to ‘The Dome’ to see Flix perform. Bonnie was very excited, secretly I think she had a major crush on Jax, the lead singer.

“Beep again, baby.” I told Jacob. I turned around in the front seat to talk to Matt. “Don’t push it with her tonight, be her friend.” He nodded at me just as Bonnie got in the car. “Hi, Bon. Excited?”

“Yeah, let’s go lover boy.” She said, lightly slapping Jacob on the arm. He laughed at her and started driving. “So, Rose, how has it been at home?”

“Ok, I just try to avoid Amelia…”

“She was asking me questions at lunch today.” Bonnie told me. I snapped my head around to look at her.

“What did she say?”

“She was asking why you were staying at my house so much. I just told her we were doing a psychology project and it was taking a long time to get it completed.”

“That little…” I was clenching my fists.

“Babe.” Jacob said calmly as he laid his hand over my fists. “Let’s enjoy our night. Besides, if what Matt said is right, she won’t have her eyes set on me for much longer.”

“What does that mean?” I asked Matt.

“Thanks, man.” Matt said to Jacob. “Let’s just say she came back for more after I distracted her for you the other day.” He winked at me.

“You slept with her?” Bonnie asked. I looked over to Bonnie and thought I saw a look of hurt and upset cross her face before she quickly changed her expression to appear as if she wasn’t bothered.

“Hell yeah, he did… Said she was wild… No wonder he wanted more.” Jacob said as he parked the car at the venue. As he turned around to look at Matt they high fived and Bonnie got out of the car and slammed the door behind her.

“Great guys, well done.” I told them as I got out and ran after Bonnie. “Bonnie… Wait.” She stopped walking and waited until I caught up to her. I looped my arm through hers and we walked towards the entrance. As we got there I turned around and saw that Jacob and Matt were behind us. We stopped at the desk to pay. “They’re paying for us.” I pointed behind me to Jacob and Matt as Bonnie and I walked inside.

“Let’s get a drink.” Bonnie said, as she practically dragged me to the bar. She called over the bar man and asked for a couple of shots and two vodka and cokes. By the time he returned with our drinks I could feel Jacob behind me; he wrapped his arms around my stomach and leant over and said to the bar man;

“And two lagers please, whatever you have on tap is fine.” Jacob then lowered his head to my ear and whispered; “Should you be drinking? What if you’re pregnant.”

“I’ve told you I’m on the pill…” He went to interrupt me so I continued with.
